I have been married to my hubby, Jim, for 30+ years and we were blessed with four amazing sons. Since retiring from Bowing Green State University *GO FALCONS!* I took up the hobby of making Christmas Spiders and jewelry design - which is quite a challenge because I have Essential Tremors. ET is a genetic condition that causes moderate to severe shaking of the hands and can also involve the head and voice. Many people mistake this condition as nervousness and it is often misdiagnosed as Parkinson's disease. For those who have this condition they understand when I say it's cause for celebration when we can keep food on a spoon so just imagine me working with tiny seed beads. LOL! Good times ;-)
My father also suffered with severe tremors and taught me the importance of patience and perseverance. He assured me that I can make anything with my shaky hands - it just takes me a little longer. I began making Christmas Spiders and jewelry as physical therapy for my hand tremors and opened my Etsy shop, "Tremors to Treasures", to sell my creations and help bring awareness to others about ET. A percentage of my sales is donated to EssentialTremor.org to help support research efforts in the treatment of Essential Tremors.
I hope you enjoy the unique creations in my shop as much as I enjoyed making each of these treasures. If you would like something designed just for you, or as a special gift, just send me an email at tremorstotreasures [!at] gmail.com.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Have a wonderful day,
